November 12, 2022, during the Cop 27 In Sharm El Sheikh the "Capacity-Building of SIDS early-career Professionals - The Italy AOSIS Fellowship - Farewell to 2022 Class" was held.
The event was the occasion to celebrate the conclusion of the first year of the “Italy – AOSIS fellowship” capacity building program, and offered the opportunity to celebrate the partnership between Italy and the Alliance of Small Island States, (AOSIS), highlighting the professional results achieved by the former fellows and rewarding the 2022 students with a certificate of participation.
The program that Italy has been promoting for years, is aimed at developing negotiation and political analysis skills in the context of multilateral negotiations, with particular attention to issues of interest to member countries, such as: oceans, climate change, sustainable development, implementation of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda.
The AOSIS Fellowship, now in its 9th edition, for the first time in 2022 welcomed 10 young professionals from 10 Small Island Developing States.
