COP27 New Memorandum of Understanding has been signed

November 11, 2022, in the Sharm El Sheik COP27 framework, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Ministry of the Environment, following a bilateral meeting between the Climate Envoy and Director General of the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Mr. Alessandro Modiano, and H.E. Mrs. Aminath Shauna, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology of the Republic of Maldives.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was an opportunity to confirm Italy's priority commitment to the most vulnerable, and exposed to the climate change risks, Small Island Developing States. “The very existence of the Maldives is threatened by global warming”.
